APPLE Corps has created a partnership with National Life Corporation, the Monpelier Food Shelf and …… to create a garden that will supply the Montpelier Food Shelf. The project will focus on building a creative deer fence and entry gate.
The total perimeter is 304′. We have cedar posts being installed every 8 feet that should be done and ready to go by building day.
We’ll need crews for:
1. Installation of horizontal sections above and below (see the deer fence pic)
2. Stapling of chicken wires to posts and vertical, horizontal sections within completed fence.
3. Design and building of a fancy front gate (see drawing by Deorsha McDade)
4. 2 additional gates built for vehicle access on road side of fence and another on the north side for compost area access.
Food and beverages will be provided. All folks will need to bring is a good attitude and their personal tools. I’ll have spares on hand for the odd person who forgets.
